The gift of giving
A gift is a tremendous thing; it does not matter what it is because in itself it is a joy. To be given something, no matter how big or small, is recognition that someone held space for you in their mind and put the effort into presenting you with something. There are many reasons to give gifts; probably the most notable are birthdays, but my favourite reason to give gifts is for no reason at all. Simply recognizing that someone might enjoy something that you are able to give them. I have a bracelet that a friend gave me that I wear every day and I love it! It is a constant reminder of our friendship that I cherish. A gift, however, is not necessarily a new item, or even an item at all – you can give the gift of your time or simply of your attention. Recognizing the many gifts we receive and acknowledging them daily fills us with gratitude and sets us up for a fulfilled life.
Ruby Tuesday is a treasure trove for gifts, whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, or (as stated above) for no reason at all. There are also gifts for you, because you deserve one!
