I love finding things that connect us all, and Mothers are one of them – every person has or has had a mother. That means every person on the planet has something to celebrate on Sunday, the 10th. We are made up of a combination of our mothers and our fathers, and it’s pretty easy to figure out what you got from whom. What are the gifts from your mother? Did you get her sense of humour? Her curly hair? Her determination, her intelligence, or her ability to manage a day of chaos and still get dinner on the table? We have so much to be thankful for when it comes to our mothers; let’s not forget this and make Sunday a day of reflection and gratitude.
With Mother's Day in mind, I have made some specific choices for the highlights today. The Family Roots talisman by Vancouver’s Pyrrha Designs is perfect as it reminds us that we carry the love and wisdom of those who came before us and pass it on to those who follow. From Nancy Dawson and the Silver Eagles, we have the Bear Collection. The First Nations regard the Bear as a strong family leader through her fierce protection of her young – she is the symbol of strength and protection. Also with Mom in mind is the Mother and Child necklace from my humble studio (A Deeks Studio). The linked circles represent the permanent bond between a mother and her child. Last on my list today are our newly received Bria Sandals by Los Cabos. These vegan lightweight sandals, available in 6 colours, are adjustable and oh so comfortable. Get a pair for yourself and a pair for Mom!
