Well, I hope you have taken advantage of all the rainy
weather and got all your spring cleaning chores done because the sun is
here! Thankfully, the temperatures will be moderate and more in
line with seasonal norms which makes me feel safer from the threat of
forest fire. I feel that the floodgates are about to open and
everyone is going to flock to the great outdoors – the beaches will get
busy, the bike park, the hiking/biking trails, and of course the
patios! This is how we celebrate summer! In a part of the world
where we spend so much time indoors due to our seasons, we flock
to the outdoors when we get the chance. Where we live, we have
abundance and scarcity; for example – in the summer we have
daylight for about 17 hours and in the winter for about 8 hours –
that’s a crazy difference (yes of course there are parts of this
country that have greater extremes). When I think about this, I
reflect on how our lives differ from summer to winter, how we spend so
much time in the dark in the winter, and in the summer, it’s all
sunshine and lollipops.
To get you ready for summer I have chosen a few choice items to round
out your summer style. Of course, you will need some super
comfortable flip-flops, and the Joybees Varsity
