Well, here we are again. Just when we thought we
might escape the smoke this year – bang, here it is! I was going to
write about how great hiking in the fall is (which it is) but with so
much smoke in the air, I would advise caution. The smoke and
associated fires are a stark reminder of the impacts of climate
change. We are now experiencing hotter and dryer than normal,
wetter than normal, colder than normal – and this isn’t the “new
normal”. There is nothing normal about this and where we are now
is not where we will be next year or the year after;
these conditions are constantly changing. As with all forms
of weather, in the short term this too shall pass. Up until now we
have experienced some beautiful September weather and I am confident
the skies will clear and we will get to those fall hikes yet.
As you will all have noticed, the temperatures have dropped a bit,
especially at night. How about popping into Ruby Tuesday and
picking up a cozy sweater? And
how about putting your best fall foot forward in a pair of Lizette Chelsea
boots? Both come in a selection of colours or
patterns. One of our favourite brands, Pursuits, has come out with
their new fall line and at the top of our “gotta have it” list is the Eris
earring. And lastly, the Abbi
tote bag by Matt & Nat is practical and yet oh
so stylish!
