Here we are at graduation time. Whether you have someone near and dear to you who is graduating or not, this is a time to reflect on what this means. The moment of graduation is a validation of years of hard work and dedication; a rite of passage marking the end of one part of life and the beginning of another. It symbolizes the achievement, personal growth, and transition to the next phase, setting students up for success in their next chapter. This is a big moment and a time to be celebrated!
We have all graduated from something in our past and started on a new journey; a new path forward, and this is a great time to reflect on that and remember what it was like for you… remembering what it felt like. Freedom and adventure come to mind for me; being able to make my own decisions and chart my own path. Of course, not all my decisions were well thought out, but I have solace knowing that every decision I have ever made has landed me here – living my best life. If our education system can teach us anything, it is to think, to learn, to achieve, and to persevere. So, for this class graduating this month, I say “go with confidence, go with the power to make a difference, and go knowing you matter in this world.” For graduates this month, I love the Potential for greatness talisman by Vancouver's Pyrrha Designs. The oak tree featured on this talisman is an emblem of strength, endurance, and prosperity, and the acorn signifies luck, power, and potential. I can’t think of a better pledge for a graduate! Other great graduation gifts are the love token necklaces by Leah Alexandra (also a Vancouver designer). The wearer of one of these necklaces will recall the love and dedication of the one who gave it. These necklaces come in round or square and in silver or gold vermeil. Also, in jewellery this week are the Chakra meditation rings by Meditation rings. These rings are designed to reduce stress and bring calm to the wearer – a benefit for all people at all stages of life. Lastly, this week we have the Kristy bag by Montreal’s Matt & Nat, sleek and small and perfect for summer.
