The summer is full of sound. In fact, there are sounds in the summer that we do not get in the winter. With the landscape blanketed in snow, there is a hush on the land and a quiet prevails. The summer, however, bustles with the energy of sound. Sitting on my deck, the most distinct sounds are the rustle of deciduous trees, birds singing, bugs buzzing, and of course, a bit of traffic. In the summer, we spend so much time outdoors that the sounds are a big part of our existence. Sound can have a profound effect on the human condition and I find that the more time I spend in the great outdoors, the more I benefit from the music of the land. Nature is inherently calming, and to surround yourself in the visual as well as the audio of the season is… well, good for the soul.
My highlights this week are all about summer favourites: Gold stacking rings are in stock and ready to adorn your fingers – show your summer flair one finger at a time! And what’s summer without a summer sale? The Chacal sneakers are now 25% off – these super comfortable shoes have a zipper for easy-on easy-off (available in 4 colours). Bracelets are another great summer accessory, and my favourites are from Marmalade designs – a great build-your-own collection of beaded bracelets and a large selection of charms to add to them. And last on my list today are the Love token necklaces by Vancouver’s Leah Alexandra – elegant and delicate, these charming necklaces bear the message “qu'hier – que demain" which translates to “I love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow”. Feel free to reply to this e-mail with thoughts, opinions, or suggestions – I look forward to your comments. We're open in the Whistler village every day from 10 am - 8 pm!
