A number of months ago, a woman by the name of Kate purchased a number of pairs of earrings and asked that we give them away as we saw fit to anyone we chose – over the next few months, we did just that. It was incredible to see the joy on people's faces, not just because they were receiving something for free, but because of the pure, generous gesture of the gift. For Kate, there were no strings attached; she just felt it in her heart to give forward. I have always loved the idea of giving it forward – when at Canadian Tire when we were given paper Canadian Tire money, I would always give it to the person behind me in line – it wasn’t very much (a few cents) but it always put a smile on their face and in turn one on mine too. Just last week one of the recipients of Kate’s generosity popped in and asked if she could do the same – of course, the answer was yes! I love the trend that has started and want to give a heartfelt thank you to Kate for her thoughtfulness and generosity, and to all others who follow in her footsteps.
For my highlights this week, I have chosen some of my summer faves!
