Apparently, 80% of Canadians drink coffee, which means 80% of people across our great nation are doing the exact same thing every morning. To get 80% of people to agree on any one thing is truly amazing, and this is much more than agreeing on something; it is actually doing the same thing every morning. Of course, I need to mention tea drinkers as well, as 48% of people enjoy a tea to get them started - these numbers would imply that some people drink tea AND coffee every morning… to each their own! Anyway, this is all about morning routines – we all have one. For some, it may just be getting up and making coffee, and if you do that every day, that is your morning routine. I did some reading on morning routines, and although I’m pretty happy with mine, there were some great suggestions. Of course, what you accomplish with your morning routine will come down to how much time you want to invest in it. So here goes… wake up, make your bed, hydrate, meditate (or journal or light stretching), step outside for a hit of vitamin D, make your coffee/tea, eat your breakfast, and plan your day (to-do list). It’s all about setting yourself up for success; start the day mindfully with a plan – how could anything go wrong??
