Tomorrow the Paralympic Games begin. Sadly sharing the
spotlight of these games is the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The
Olympic and Paralympic Games are a coming together of mankind in
pursuit of sporting excellence, where all nations far and wide strive to
be the best. It is mankind at its best. Ironically, the
current actions of the Russian government are displaying mankind at its
worst. We can only hope that it is short-lived with limited
casualties.
Canada will have 49 Paralympians competing in the games. Many of
them have unforgettable stories and to watch them compete is truly
amazing. I do hope that you find some time to watch and cheer them
on.
For our Highlights this week, I have chosen the Eagle cuff by Nancy Dawson of
Silver Eagles as it symbolizes power, strength, and the ability to go
further. It is also a symbol of Peace and Friendship. The Resilience necklace by Treeline
Collective reminds you to remain flexible to the ever-changing
tides and continue to bounce back stronger than ever regardless of
setbacks or challenges. The Co-ordinates necklace by Lazy
Maisie reminds you of where you are or perhaps where you want to
be. And lastly, we have a sale on slippers – who doesn’t love a
sale!
We hope you'll stop in for a visit to our Whistler village store this
week! We're open Sunday -
Thursday from 10am - 6pm and on Friday and Saturday from
10am - 7pm. Of course, if you can't make it here
this time you can still shop from our full selection of jewellery,
handbags, footwear, housewares, gifts, sales, and more on our website here... |
