| With the wrap up of the Olympics just a few days ago, it’s
time to take stock of what we just witnessed. Besides being amazed and
entertained what was unique or different about this year’s events? The
opening ceremony for sure was an amazing event – unique and VERY
entertaining! I believe the only brand-new events were the Kayak cross
and Breaking (aka Break dancing). It was the Breaking that really
caught my attention – I should qualify that… at first it did not catch my
attention at all as I don’t consider Breaking a sport BUT I have to admit I
thought the event was captivating. Much more talent goes in to Breaking
than I had previously thought and although it really is an activity rather
than a sport, I thought it worthy of my attention. Turns out it wasn’t
captivating enough to be granted a second Olympics but as Canadians we can be
proud that we have the only gold medal EVER for this event in an Olympic
game. For this weeks highlights I have chosen a few items to reflect the cooler temperatures.
