As we head into the fall (yes, it is official), I’m reflecting on how often people tell me they are tired. I know this is not a new thing, but it seems to be amplified. We are all going about our busy lives, managing, organizing, and doing the things in probably much the same way as always, but for some reason, I’m feeling a bit ragged. I suppose that with the shorter days, there is a heightened sense of urgency as our subconscious interprets sunset (now at 7:06 pm) as the end of the day. I also read that the decreased daylight can disrupt the body’s circadian rhythm, leading to increased melatonin production and fatigue. Yesterday I granted myself a 10-minute mini meditation – sitting with my eyes closed and focusing on my breath. I will say I did feel refreshed and will endeavour to do the same today. So cut yourself some slack if you feel somehow that being tired is your doing. Embrace the new season and its visual beauty – your body will adjust.
For my highlights this week, we have a new talisman by Pyrrha Designs – The Family Roots talisman, whose intertwined roots and acorns symbolize the strength of generational bonds. It reminds us that we carry the love and wisdom of those who came before us and pass it on to those who follow. From Leah Alexandra, we have the Serpentine chain necklace and bracelet. As Leah says herself, these are made to be worn with everything and anything! And from another one of our beautiful BC designers, Treeline Collective out of Squamish has a stunning 14k vermeil collection. Today I have highlighted the Mountain pieces – small and tasteful, these can be an everyday piece worn to remind you of the joys of mountain living. Last on my list today are the bag straps by Justine Brooks – so many to choose from – oh my!
