In the face of change

header-march-20-2025.jpg

What’s your view of change? Change is an everyday occurrence from small things to big things; it can impact your life dramatically or not at all. Whether change is good or bad depends on the individual’s point of view and interestingly, that point of view can change. Change can be unpredictable like our current political landscape, or very predictable like the seasons. There is change we anticipate and flow with and change we resist and fight against. We change every day as do our surroundings and as human beings we are conditioned to its existence and life experience teaches us how to cope. As change happens, we move forward with it and make necessary adjustments; we react accordingly. When change is good, we respond with joy, when change is bad, when it threatens us, we move forward with intention and purpose. Change begets change; negative change can be changed again. We all have the capacity to make change and as a community of like-minded individuals, we have the power to do so. So for predictable change, like the seasons, bring it on, we are ready for spring! And for the unpredictable change, like our political landscape, watch out, we are reacting accordingly and Canada is fighting back.

Meanwhile back at Ruby Tuesday we have been changing up our product offerings. New this week is the 14k gold Vermeil collection from Squamish-based Treeline Collective. Gold vermeil is high-quality gold jewelry made with a base of sterling silver that is coated with a typically 2.5-micron thick layer of gold. All their designs are stunning, and this week’s pick is the mountain collection. We also received new Talismans from Vancouver design house Pyrrha and I absolutely LOVE the Kraken! This talisman represents strength, mystery, and the power of the unknown. It is a reminder to fearlessly explore uncharted territories with confidence – what an awesome sentiment!  Also new this week are wallets from Canada’s Matt & Nat. There are so many good ones but the Gratz stands out for me. It’s a small thin wallet with a change pocket and many card slots – perfect for on-the-go. Lastly, we have the Eagle wrap ring from Canadian First Nations Designer Nancy Dawson. The eagle symbolizes power, strength, and stamina and is also a symbol of peace and friendship – a perfect talisman of support in the face of change.

Now that the days are getting longer, there's more light in the evenings so if you're not too far away, make a day trip to Whistler and come say hello! We're open:
10 am - 6 pm Sunday - Thursday
10 am - 7 pm Fridays and Saturdays

And for those who can't make it here in person you can still shop all of our new arrivals, jewellery, handbags, footwear, gifts, sales, & more by visiting our website anytime! If you ever have questions, concerns, or suggestions please hit reply. I look forward to your comments.
