November is here and winter is definitely on its way. We have seen some snow in the valley already and lots in the mountains. No doubt you have already pulled out your winter coats and boots and stacked your firewood because it’s getting cold. Staying warm, however, has as much to do with what you put in your body as it is what you put on your body. This is the time of year to break out the hearty family recipes and have some friends over. My personal favourites include chilli and Osso Bucco (in my family we call this Awesome Bucco). If you haven’t had this before, it is an Italian stew made of lamb or veal shanks with vegetables, wine and seasoning – awesome is the only way I can describe this!! I also love to get into baking in the winter since we need more calories in the cold months (that’s what I believe anyway). I started making crème de cacao brownies last winter after I discovered the liqueur in my cupboard (I have not idea where with came from) and Yowza!! are those ever good. Whatever floats your boat when it comes to food, the winter is the time to indulge.
Our November offerings at Ruby Tuesday include our full collection of winter
boots by Nex Grip. The Kim Black Patent
boot is back by popular demand – fashion and function at its
best! For an ever-so-cute backpack, we have the Caro backpack by
Matt & Nat available in Espresso and Canal. And on the jewellery end
of things, we have the Melody earring by
Vancouver designer Leah Alexandra and the charm collection
by Marmalade where you can build your own necklaces and bracelets. We
would love to see you, so please pop in if you find yourself in the
neighbourhood. Whether in person, or online, be sure to check out our sale section with
new items added every week.
