When I moved into my townhouse many years ago, I literally had a yard of dirt in front of my patio that was home to scattered weeds and a sad, stunted pine tree. Over the years, this patch of dirt has transformed, not into a garden of glory but a space of successes and failures, perseverance and luck. I had never really been much of a gardener (I am still not), but I do enjoy watching my garden grow each year. I have never had a plan for it; I simply plant what I see at the garden shop and hope it grows. My failures include roses, lavender, and many tulips and crocuses, but my successes have outweighed my failures. Each spring I enjoy watching the transformation from dirt to green to colour as each plant emerges, grows, and blossoms. I like cutting the blooms and hosting fresh-cut flowers in my house – it is a simple joy.
Spring at Ruby Tuesday is also about transformation. Winter boots are gone and, in their place, we have great new Sandals. New this week are sandals by Joybees and the Riviera, which are top of mind.
