My words have failed me. In light of the recent
news of the discovery of the mass grave of children on the grounds of
the Kamloops residential schools, what is there to say?
This discovery says it all. A complete and utter disregard for the
lives of First Nations and First Nations culture. A culture that
is dedicated to the land, to the creatures that roam the earth, to
family and the spirit world.
I feel helpless in light of this, not to mention shame, horror and
anger. Although there is nothing that can make up for such
tremendous loss of life, we can all do our part to work on
reconciliation with First Nations today. At Ruby Tuesday we will
be donating a percentage of sales from our First Nations Design team
Nancy Dawson and Vincent Henson of Silver Eagles to the Kuu-us Crisis line Society.
*Our new store hours are Sun-Thur 10am
- 7pm and
