What do you want? What do you need? Great questions and sometimes polarizing ones. When these two jive, life is grand, but so often they are not in sync. As much as I would love to have the answers for you, this is a personal journey; you are the master of your ship, and you decide if it sails or if it sits in dry dock. Figuring out a balance between the necessities and those things (or experiences) that bring you joy can be joy in itself so when you splurge on a non-necessity, really enjoy it! As much as this could be strictly a balance of finances , it is much more. Granting yourself personal space or creating a work/life balance is so important to mental health, and we all know that if our mental health is, well… unhealthy, we are no good to those around us. So, I ask you again, what do you want and what do you need? Get your ship sailing…
All my highlights this week are designed to bring you joy. The Rooted Tree of Life necklace by Squamish designer Justine Brooks is all about the interconnectedness of everything and everyone – there is joy in companionship and knowing you are part of something bigger. Along a similar line is the True Friends talisman by Vancouver design house Pyrrha. The two daisies are symbols of mutual respect, understanding, and quiet strength – they remind us that true friends reflect, support, and bring out the best in each other. And something beautiful for you this month is the gold and glass collection by Toronto’s Pursuits. The stunning combination of gold and grey glass globes will elevate any outfit. Last on my list today is our weekly stack – this week highlights the Tara necklace by H-nine, the 4mm paperclip chain, and the tiny teardrop Mother of Pearl necklace by Vancouver’s Mimi & Marge.
I hope you enjoy your January and find your balance.
