As we head into the throws of winter there are all kinds
of adjustments necessary to help us find our groove for the next few
months. For example, in November, -2ºC feels cold – when we get to
March, this will feel like a heat wave. There are the multiple
layers needed to go outside - coats, boots, hats, gloves, and scarves.
And of course, you must build in extra time to scrape snow/ice off the
car. Winter just takes a bit longer; In fact, winter requires more
thought and organization. Another adjustment is reduced daylight
- even though this happens every year, it always comes as a bit of
a surprise. I am always shocked at how dark it gets in December –
seriously, this has literally happened EVERY year of my life
and still takes me by surprise. I don’t think I am alone in this
realization, but if I am… thanks for letting me rant.
An essential part of winter preparedness is a hat (or toques as we call
them here in the Great White North). Coming in this week are the
most amazing cozy toques –
a cashmere/merino blend – that are guaranteed to keep you stylish and
warm throughout the winter. As the days get shorter and darker,
candles become that added bit of decor for your home. In addition
to our regular Aromabotanical candles,
we now have a selection of Reallite
candles that are battery-operated – no dripping wax
or smoke to deal with. For jewellery this week, I have chosen the Deep
Frost collection by Ayala Bar – stunning! And
lastly, the True
Colours collection by Pyrrha. These bright
blue and shiny silver talismans are a show-stopper. As always, be
sure to check out our sale
section to score on some great deals!
If you're in Whistler this week take note of our new store hours. We'll
be open from 10 am - 7 pm every day of the week. Of course if you
can't make it here in person, you can still shop all of our
new arrivals, jewellery, handbags, winter boots, gifts, sales,
& more on our website! |
