With looming potential tariffs from the USA we here in Canada must be prepared for disruption and change. Who knows what will happen in the next few weeks (months, years) as these things are out of our control; but what we can control is how we, on a personal level, respond to it. Change is hard enough without a negative emotional response added on top. If we prepare ourselves for change (even though we don’t know what these changes will look like) we can be more dynamic in our response. Having a positive attitude goes a long way to calming the mind and preparing for the future. Remove unnecessary stress and look to the bright side of situations and solutions. For all of us here in Canada, it is important to support our brand and to work towards a more Canadian existence. Where possible let’s focus our energies on Canadian products, services, and Industry. By working together, we will be able to weather this storm.
Ruby Tuesday is home to many Canadian designers, it has been my focus from Day 1 that we showcase Canadian products. Top of the list today are four great Canadian designers: Justine Brooks, Marmalade, Pursuits, and Pyrrha. Justine Brooks is from Squamish, BC, and draws inspiration from the mountains, forests, and sea that surround her home. Her designs seamlessly blend elegance with nature, incorporating earthy elements and textures. Her Rooted Tree of Life necklace embodies all of this. Marmalade Designs hand-makes all of their jewellery in their private studio in downtown Toronto. They use sustainably sourced sterling silver and bronze to create their signature pieces. Pursuits is also out of Toronto and creates the most stunningly original jewellery. Using architectural designs and geometry they use the combination of surface and shape to create wearable art. Their new collection of gold and grey glass is stunningly elegant! Lastly, we have Pyrrha who create sustainable jewelry that holds personal significance for those who wear it. Their designs are created from wax seals which are cast in sterling silver, bronze or 14K gold that tell a personal story. This week I have chosen the Hummingbird talisman as it reminds us to see goodness and beauty in everything.
