Is there Zen in the Art of moving?

I think with practice, you can find Zen in everything you do; but seriously, moving is one of the tasks I really really don’t like. It’s amazing how much stuff we accumulate – and not necessarily useful stuff – just stuff, and then at the end of the day you have to move it. This week I am moving my office. The space just got too expensive and I could not justify the expense anymore – so the office is coming home. So I have been rifling through 14 years of stuff and consequently, have taken many trips to the re-use-it centre. So here is where the Zen part comes in (which is what I will define as calm, inner peace). I have mentioned that I do not like moving but a by-product, is decluttering - this is the Zen of moving. It is freedom from the shackles of stuff and cluttered spaces – it is incredibly satisfying… and calming.

It may seem ironic that after saying how great it feels to declutter I should suggest you come shopping – well heck, life is full of irony! To start things off, we have new white belt bags by Justine Brooks - an excellent addition to your summer flair. Also for summer, may I suggest a new pair of earrings by local Vancouver designer Sarah Mulder? A great earring combo is the Tiny Teardrop stud and the Utility hoop. For footwear this week, look no further than the Pismo sneaker by Vionic. Vionic are known for their footbeds, making these the most comfortable sneakers you will own. Lastly, we have the Brave backpack by Matt & Nat – great pockets and organization for your summer adventures.
