Whistler’s LAST Ironman Canada Returns Sunday

The 2019 Subaru IRONMAN Canada event returns to Whistler this Sunday, July 28 for its last year before heading back to Penticton.

Whether you’re in town to compete in the Ironman event yourself, or you’re just here to support a family member or friend competing, you may be interested in taking home a little souvenir. We have all kinds of different jewellery and accessory designs for you to shop from, but we think these ones would make for perfect Ironman mementos:

Swim

The 3.8 km swim course will take place in the clean, shallow waters of Alta Lake at Rainbow Park. The water temperature ranges between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius throughout the summer months.

The Fire Within Talisman necklace by Pyrrha features a mythological phoenix emerging from its own ashes, reborn. It is a symbol of challenging times overcome with strength and grace. The swim portion of the race may well be the most challenging but with the right mindset, it can be done! This talisman necklace is perfect for a competitor who has overcome challenges in their journey to get here.

Bike

The 180 km 2-loop course is tough and beautiful, taking athletes from the shores of Alta Lake to the top of the Whistler Olympic Park in Callaghan valley. In 2019, athletes will travel further south down the Sea-to-Sky highway, enjoying views of Black Tusk and the surrounding mountain ranges before making their return back to Whistler to begin their second loop. This fair and hilly course will be the cornerstone to one of the most challenging courses in North America.

Wear this adorable sterling silver Freerider Earrings or Pendant to commemorate the long and gruesome bike portion of the race. If you can’t decide which one you like more, why not get them both? They make a really cute matching set when worn together.

Run

The two-loop, 42.2 km run course follows the meandering Valley Trail past Lost Lake and Green Lake allowing spectators to reinvigorate athletes with a return through Whistler Village at the halfway point of the run. Athletes repeat the same loop a second time before finishing adjacent to Whistler Olympic Plaza.

We think that the Potential for Greatness Talisman necklace is perfect for the running portion of the race. The oak tree featured on this talisman is an emblem of strength, endurance, and prosperity. The acorn signifies luck, power, and potential. Everything an Ironman competitor is and more is captured in this lovely handcrafted piece.

Will you be cheering on any Subaru Ironman competitors this week?
